VINELAND - Two city men were charged with driving while intoxicated after separate weekend crashes.
About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Brad J. Ruggeri, 37, of the 300 block of Tuckahoe Road, was arrested after his vehicle struck a mailbox and a tree in the area of Mays Landing Road and Cornucopia Avenue.
After failing field sobriety tests, Ruggeri was taken to the police station where a breath test measured his blood alcohol content at more than twice the legal limit, according to police reports.
He was issued summonses for reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and leaving the scene of an accident.
On Sunday, Hector Figueroa, 47, of the 1800 block of David Street, was arrested after his vehicle crashed into a utility pole at Main and Vine roads just after 10 p.m., police said.
At the scene, Figueroa told police he was on the phone arguing with a family member when the crash occurred.
He was cited for reckless driving, failure to wear a seat belt, driving while on the revoked list and using a cell phone while driving.
Both men have court dates pending at Vineland Municipal Court.
