MAYS LANDING – Hamilton Commons in Mays Landing got a little more artsy on New Year’s Day with the grand opening of a brand-new Hobby Lobby.

“Hobby Lobby is constantly looking for new locations to better serve our customers,” said Hobby Lobby communications coordinator Bob Miller via email. “We’ve had our eye on Mays Landing for a while. Our 12 other New Jersey locations give us confidence that the Mays Landing community will appreciate the super savings and our super selection.”

Scott Jackson, manager of the Mays Landing store, seconded Miller’s confidence that the savings that can be found in Hobby Lobby is a big draw for customers. However, Jackson has several other reasons why he believes that Hobby Lobby is a step above competitors.

“The variety, the quality, the price, and the level of customer service. We are so committed to our customers,” said Jackson.

His confidence in the new store also extended to his employees. According to Jackson, the new store’s employees put the store together in 14 days.

“Our staff, that is so, so, so, so proud of the store they put together,” Jackson said. “I remind them they should be proud and how proud I am of them.”

Beyond provided quality and reasonably priced items, along with the level of customer service, Jackson hopes the new store will have a huge impact on the community.

“We want to be able to touch the community in a positive way,” Jackson said.

Allie Horn and her friend Rachael Brown stopped by the new Hobby Lobby on Jan. 3 to check out what the store had to offer.

“I am making a gift,” said Horn, who said she had never visited a Hobby Lobby before but was enjoying the experience. Brown had been to a Hobby Lobby before, but she had to travel well out of the area to do so. Brown was thrilled that a Hobby Lobby had opened much closer to her.

“I love Hobby Lobby,” Brown said. “This one is huge, it has everything you could want.”

The new Hobby Lobby is located at 4315 E Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing. It is in the Hamilton Commons complex in between Ross and Marshalls. It is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and are closed on Sundays.
